The 1500 is the smallest pickup in the Silverado lineup, but it offers powerful performance, enhanced capabilities, and high-tech functions. Explore the most notable attributes of the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 in this brief guide.

Engine Options

The Chevy Silverado 1500’s standard engine is a TurboMax engine that works alongside an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver 310 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 430 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm.

There are three available engine options for increased power, including a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8, a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8, and a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. All available engines on the Silverado 1500 are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode, powertrain-grade braking, and cruise-grade braking.

Towing Capabilities

If you plan on using your Silverado 1500 for towing, the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine is an ideal upgrade. This engine provides a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds and a maximum available payload of 2,260 pounds.

For a trailer hitch, hitch platform, and other convenient towing features, opt for the Custom or any higher Silverado 1500 trim. These trims come with a complete Chevrolet Trailering Package that features everything you need for efficient towing, including 4-pin and 7-pin connectors, a 7-wire electrical harness, and Hitch Guidance. The Hitch Guidance feature provides an in-cabin display of your trailer and hitch for every step of the towing process, from alignment to arrival.

Exterior Features

The new Silverado 1500 comes with many of the same standard features as the 2024 model, including cab-mounted cargo area lamps, a CornerStep rear bumper, and twelve cargo tie-downs. The solar-absorbing glass blocks out the sun’s solar rays to keep your cabin cooler, while the Durabed is made from high-strength steel to withstand any type of cargo.

Technology and Connectivity

The 2025 Silverado 1500 features a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with wireless smartphone integration through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Higher 1500 trims have an enlarged Infotainment 3 Plus system that comes with Google built-in for access to Maps, Assistant, Gmail, and Play. You can also enjoy traditional AM/FM stereo or SiriusXM satellite radio for music stations, live sporting events, and international news coverage.

Safety Functions

The new Chevy Silverado 1500 comes with OnStar Basics with Automatic Crash Response. Automatic Crash Response is an innovative function that connects you with an emergency advisor when it detects your truck has been involved in a serious collision. Other safety features of the 1500 include StabiliTrak electronic stability control, Chevy Safety Assist, and Teen Driver.
