2021 Chevy Corvette Stingray

America’s iconic Corvette has entered a new era with its new drivetrain layout and it’s more powerful and sophisticated than ever. Thankfully, despite its new supercar performance, you won’t have to pay supercar prices to experience it. Read on to learn more about the 2021 Chevy Corvette Stingray.

Now in its second model year as an eighth-generation Corvette, the Stingray features the new mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout that places the 6.2L V8 engine between the cabin and rear axle. This makes for the best weight distribution possible, which greatly improves handling. When you couple that with 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, upgradeable with the performance exhaust option, you get one monster of a sports car.
The car can be had as either a coupe or hard-top convertible with three trims. When you move up from the 1LT trim to the 2LT, you’ll get new features like ventilated and heated seating, wireless device charging station, and 14-speaker Bose premium audio. The 3LT model upgrades the seating with available Nappa leather upholstery and customizable interior trim and stitching.

Transmission and Suspension

Signifying a radical change in design, all Stingrays for this model year are equipped with Chevy’s outstanding 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. As you’d expect, gear changes are lightning-quick and can be controlled using shift paddles mounted to the steering wheel or gear selector buttons located on the center console.
The suspension is tuned to be comfortable enough for daily driving but still delivers unparalleled performance during hard driving. All models come with a limited-slip differential to help ensure good traction during hard cornering. Available Magnetic Selective Ride Control instantly adapts to changing road conditions using dampers filled with a special ferrous fluid.

Z51 Performance Package

Serious track goers will want to fit their Corvettes with the available Z51 Performance Package. Its exclusive exhaust system bumps power up to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and the suspension is tuned to be firmer and more aggressive. 0-60 times in under three seconds are easily achieved with these upgrades.
Also included with this package are larger Michelin Pilot Sport tires, an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential, and high-performance brakes. You’ll also get a heavy-duty cooling system that will help keep the car running at its maximum even after long hours spent on the track.

Fighter Jet-Inspired Cockpit

The interior of the Corvette Stingray heavily focuses on the driver with all the controls and displays angled specifically for easier access and readout. Fine materials and craftsmanship adorn the cabin and all available seating is bolstered to give excellent support. The available Competition Sport seats are even more aggressive and feature high-quality textile on surfaces that are more prone to wear.
A host of the latest technology is present, including Chevy’s 8.0-inch Infotainment 3 Plus touchscreen system. It’s Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi hotspot capable. Driver assists like Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist help ensure passenger safety.

In its most impressive iteration yet, the Corvette Stingray’s status as a true rival to much more costly exotics is unquestionable. Its high-tech handling and V8 power are sure to get your heart pumping. Come experience the legend at Minnesota Motor Company today!
